Meet Caitlin

My name is Caitlin and I care about your pet.

I don't even know them yet.
But I care about them. I love them. I love them like they are mine.
All animals deserve a voice.
Dogs, cats, snakes, birds, rabbits, hawks, raccoons, all of them.
I can help you give your pet a voice.
I can help you give yourself a voice.
At the pet store. At the vet's office. At the dog park. I can teach you what you need to know to be your pet's advocate.

Nobody makes decisions about my pets except me.

That is because I know enough to push back, to ask for more, to question, to research. I have spent 20 years in this industry building exactly that knowledge. Vet tech, practice manager, retail manager, nutrition educator, nonprofit wildlife hospital. Every single role taught me something that most pet owners never get access to.

But what if you don't know? What if you lack the resources to defend your pet, to stand up for yourself in the vet's office, to see through the marketing on a bag of food, to know which products actually do what they say they do?

That is exactly why I started Petted and Vetted.

The pet industry is loud. Everyone has an opinion. Your neighbor swears by one food. The pet store associate recommends another. Your vet says something different. An influencer online says something else entirely. And meanwhile you are standing in an aisle staring at forty versions of the same product trying to figure out which one is actually right for your specific animal, with their specific needs, at their specific age and stage of life.

It is a lot. And most people are navigating it completely alone.

I am here to change that.

There are incredible small companies making genuinely amazing products that most people never hear about because they cannot compete with big marketing budgets. There are treatment paths and holistic options and proactive approaches that never come up in a ten minute vet appointment. There are questions you did not know you could ask and decisions you did not know you had. I know about all of it. And I want to share it with you.

My friends text me constantly. Food questions, vet recommendations, product opinions, behavioral stuff, general anxiety about whether they are doing everything right. I answer every single one because I genuinely love it. But not everyone has a friend in the pet industry. Not everyone has someone to call when their dog is acting strange or their cat just got a scary diagnosis. That gap is real and something needed to be done about it.

So I did something about it.

What I care about most is not just helping you react to problems. It is helping you be proactive. Understanding what your pet actually needs before something goes wrong. Finding the right food, the right supplements, the right vet, the right approach. I bring both worlds to this, the medical and veterinary side and the holistic side, because the best outcomes for pets usually live somewhere in between.

I want you to come out the other side of working with me feeling confident and informed. Not just for one decision but for all of them. Armed with real information from someone who has no agenda except your pet's wellbeing.

The crew at home.

I share my home with four animals who are, collectively, a lot. Tyrion is my 14 year old Shar-Pei Cocker Spaniel mix and the official face of Petted and Vetted. He is blond, distinguished, and absolutely insufferable about it. Chell is my 12 year old Beagle mix and has been keeping the rest of us in line since day one. Tom Waits is my 15 year old cat, named after the musician, and deeply unimpressed by everything including me. And then there is Pepperoni, my 2 year old corn snake, who is somehow the most charming and least demanding member of the entire household.

In 2023 I lost my Snowshoe Siamese, Khaleesi. She was irreplaceable and I think about her all the time. Losing her reminded me why this work matters so much. The decisions we make for our pets during their complicated years, their sick years, their final years, are some of the most important decisions we will ever make. I want to help you make them well.
